I believe the only real power we have in life is our ability to perceive, as well as alter our perceptions of reality. And it is that perception that I have expressed through my paintings. Life is largely a matter of perception, and so are my paintings.
My work is acrylic, on cotton canvas and I always paint on the floor, from that perspective and being able to walk around a canvas, I feel free to express myself. I tend to focus on size and shape and the visual possibilities that a canvas can give to a room. The options in size are unlimited and that aspect is very fulfilling, for me, at times, the bigger the better.
A painting is like a window to an endless view. The idea of a painting is derived from my desire to "dress up" a wall or surface that crosses my path.
My wish is to give life to space and, in so doing, to search the eyes of the people who witness life, and subsequently make them feel alive. Expression via canvas is meant to be shared, understood, or at least be considered. I hope to continue creating brushstrokes and colorful blending techniques as I continue to relate my life perceptions.
