The expertise of Serbian artist Voijislav Radovanovic extends beyond painting and drawing, and his experience working with moving images (film, television and experimental video) is reflected in the still images he creates.

His weed drawings look like single frames of an animated film, showing an attention to narrative and drawing attention towards the subterranean networks of plant matter.

The weeds he depicts could be real or mythic, and his shadows come alive unexpectedly as insects, or whatever the eye chooses to see. His feathery lines emulate the spidery paths of the weeds that make up the botanical histories of urban environments, rooting down through rock, brick, and arid environments.
