Artist Of The Month For April 2021 - Ron Fortier
Ron Fortier's expertise comprises diverse experiences in designing, education, and painting. His paintings’ color palette, being an epitome of sheer spontaneity, is autonomous, trying to grasp one call at a time.
Ron completed his BFA and MFA from Southeastern Massachusetts University and the University of Miami, respectively.
“I try so hard to listen to that voice when I paint, especially when my mind finally goes quiet and it is just a whisper; so low that I can barely consciously hear it”, shares Ron.
Following an innately primitive road of expression, Ron's multifarious exposure makes him capable to decide for every moment of action. Hence, each of his artworks is unique and enriched with oneness—also a process that could never be repeated or duplicated.
Notably, Ron also responds to the social mishappenings through his artwork series like Americas Guernica and Wild west.
A voluminous interplay of negative and positive spaces, his artworks are a conscious reap of meditative efforts. His monochrome compositions portray many hidden emotions—some overt and some stifled while all of them germinate with a particular visual identity.
Are they abstract narrations, which need a patient decodifying?
After resigning from a 40+ year career in Advertising, Ron now devotes all his time, space, and energy to abstraction. He has participated in various exhibitions in the United States, both group as well as solo.
